Mercy College makes applying for financial aid easy. We only require students to complete the FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). It contains the information we need to prepare your individual financial aid package.
The Office of Enrollment Services works with you to manage the financial aid process from application to enrollment. If additional information is required, the office will contact you. You can always come in to the Office of Enrollment Services and meet with your personal Enrollment Services counselor to ask questions and review your aid eligibility.
Mercy Connect makes applying for financial aid easy. You can access your personal data and update it. Be sure to check it monthly. Mercy Connect is accessible from home computers, school computer labs and kiosks located around the four campuses.
Financial aid award notifications are sent weekly. Federal Stafford Loan promissory notes and loan entrance interviews may also be completed and submitted online at www.studentloans.gov.
These are bundled together to form your financial aid award package.
All incoming students are reviewed for Mercy College Academic Scholarships. Eligibility is based on your high school, or previous college credits and GPA. Contact the Admissions Office at 1-877-MERCY-GO for more information.
There are thousands of scholarships out there. Use any of these free search sites to find information on just about all of them.
Once your FAFSA is processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). If you're selected for Verification, you may be required to provide a copy of your current Federal Income Taxes to the Office of Student Services. If selected, you will receive a notice in the mail detailing the specific items needed. You will also need to complete a Dependent or an Independent Verification Worksheet.
For college code or address changes, you may complete a TAP Change Form at the TAP website at www.hesc.ny.gov/content.nsf. Click on "Student Access" in the upper right corner. You can also call the HESC Customer Communication Center at 1-888-NYS-HESC (1-888-697-4372).
A. If your parents' income information was supplied: Complete the Dependent Worksheet. Parental signature required.
B. If your parents' income information was not supplied: Complete the Independent Worksheet.

Several lenders offer alternative loans. Requirements differ. Rejection by one lender does not mean that you cannot apply to another. Private loans are in addition to Direct Loans. You should only consider private loans after your Direct Loan eligibility has been determined.
