Partners with Westchester Aquatic Management to Aid in Operations

October 14, 2019, Dobbs Ferry, New York – Mercy College is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement to keep the Wellness Center, formerly at The College of New Rochelle (CNR), open. Mercy has partnered with Westchester Aquatic Management to aid in the center’s operational management for students, faculty, staff and the community. As part of the March 2019 agreement with CNR, Mercy has provided a seamless pathway for students to continue their college experiences uninterrupted and has negotiated leases for three of the former CNR locations, including New Rochelle.

Students, faculty and staff who utilize the New Rochelle-based Wellness Center, located at 215 Liberty Avenue, will have continued access to a familiar health and wellness option including access to exercise classes, an indoor pool, a weight room and walking track. The Center is free for Mercy students and is available to faculty, staff and the public at an affordable rate. The Community can contact Westchester Aquatic Management to learn about hours of operation, membership fees and rental opportunities for group events or special occasions at (914) 299-9964 or

“Mercy College believes the Wellness Center is an important resource for our students, faculty, staff and the community. We are looking forward to working with Westchester Aquatic Management to continue its operation, as the Wellness Center remains a popular location for New Rochelle residents,” said Tom Simmonds, Mercy’s Vice President for Operations and Facilities.

Mercy hopes that community members will use the Wellness Center to strengthen social bonds, meet long-term wellness goals and maintain healthy lifestyles. The College will also be providing students additional support at the New Rochelle Location including mental health counseling, on-site academic and student engagement, residential living options and food services. Shuttle buses between the New Rochelle Location and the Metro-North Station, as well as the New Rochelle Location and the Mercy Bronx Campus, are also available.
