The Mercy College Student Counseling Center offers preventative and clinical services to Mercy College students. Our goal is to provide support and assistance so students can successfully engage in their college experience. Counselors provide psychological evaluation and brief treatment lasting one to eight sessions. Students in need of more intensive treatment are referred to local hospitals and clinics for long term psychotherapy and/or medication.
Mercy students come to the Student Counseling Center for various reasons including anxiety, depression, and relationship conflict, as well as other concerns about their academic progress, daily living and adjustment to college. Counselors work with students within a culturally sensitive, student-focused framework to encourage and support psychological well-being.
Counseling can be an opportunity to talk about issues that are of concern to students with an objective person who can help them develop skills and view situations in ways that may enable them to be more effective in managing life's challenges down the road.
This service is for Mercy College students only. Full and part-time faculty, administrators and staff may contact the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or Human Resources to obtain psychological services. If you are an alumnus, please refer to our Off-Campus Mental Health Services tab on information on how to find a provider outside of Mercy. If you area parent of a student, please refer to our FAQ Section for more information.
To make an appointment on any campus call 914-888-5150 or email CounselingCenter@mercy.edu.
The Student Counseling Center will be offering all appointments through the virtual platform, Doxy.me. Due to licensing restrictions, clinical appointments are only available to students who are located in the state of New York. If you are not in New York but would like an appointment, please contact us to discuss your options.
Virtual sessions allow counselors to provide support while adhering to the CDC’s health recommendations. These changes are not meant to provoke fear, but to ensure the well being of all. Counselors at the SCC are dedicated to supporting all Mercy Students. For questions, please email: CounselingCenter@mercy.edu. For more information on COVID-19, click here.
