
A transfer student will be considered as anyone who has taken college credit after the completion of high school. This would not include high school students who have completed credits while in high school or the summer following their high school graduation. For applicants who have completed fewer than 12 college credits, a high school transcript is required to make an admissions decision.

Any military students who will be submitting a Joint Service Transcript will also be considered a Transfer student.
Adult students who do not meet Mercy College’s undergraduate admission requirements may gain entrance into most undergraduate degree programs based on an the review of alternative admission materials. To qualify for such a review, students must (a) be age 24 or over, (b) be out of school (high school or college) for five or more years, and (c) have three or more years of professional work experience. Students must submit a current resume or CV and meet Mercy College’s English and math admit requirements. An admissions interview may be required on a case-by-case basis.
Undergraduate programs in Generic Nursing, Veterinary Technology, Occupational Therapy Assistant, and Health Science are not eligible for alternative admission. Mercy College accepts transfer students with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher with 12 or more transferrable credits from their previous college or university. All students are encouraged to apply as Mercy College does consider other factors in the admission decision including professional experience and extracurricular activities.

Transfer students may apply for the fall (September), spring (January) or summer (May) semesters. Transfer applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

STEP 2 | Submit your Transcripts
Transfer students must supply their high school transcripts and previous college or university transcripts. Students are able to upload these transcripts through our student portal.
An official or unofficial transcript from each college or university previously attended or now attending, including work in progress. Official, final transcript(s) must be submitted prior to enrollment.
An official final high school transcript (provided by the high school to Mercy College), which includes all secondary school grades, class rank and date of graduate must be submitted prior to enrollment.
Students whose transcripts are unavailable should consult with an admissions counselor. Or, the applicant can provide a High School Equivalency Diploma, if applicable, with corresponding score sheet.
