@MercyMavericks.edu powered by Google is a new email system that will replace @connect.mercy.edu.

Here are some of the features of @MercyMavericks.edu:

  • Over 7 GB of storage so you can keep as much email as you wish
  • Google Calendar to manage your schedule Google Docs to create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations online
  • Google Sites to build websites Built-in chat (with voice and video) to talk with classmates all from within your inbox
  • Conversation View groups incoming messages to clean up your inbox
  • Access to your email from mobile devices You user ID will remain the same however your email address will change.

For example for a student with the email address of ssmith@connect.mercy.edu their new email address will be ssmith@MercyMavericks.edu.

How do I access @MercyMavericks.edu?

After July 24 2011, sign-in to Mercy Connect and in the upper right hand navigation bar click on the envelope icon. You may only gain access to through Mercy Connect. If you get an error message "Invalid Email" it indicates that your new Gmail Account is not yet provisioned. Please go to the following link and send a message to the Helpdesk http://www8.mercy.edu/redir/activatemavericksemail. Your new account will be activated within 72 hours; after the Helpdesk received your submission.

How long will my mail in @connect.mercy.edu be accessible?

You will have until August 31th, 2011 to move any email you may have in your @connect.mercy.edu account.

How do I import contacts into Gmail?

How come when I sign into Mercy Mavericks E-mail I receive a message that I am already signed on?

This is due to Google "caching" credentials -- Log out of your personal gmail account, close all browsers and then login to Mercy Connect to access Mavericks account.

Please note that it is important that you sign-out of Mavericks eMail. Simply closing the email window will *not* sign you out and will result in un-authorized access to your email account. This is due to a Google feature; where Google caches credentials in the browser. To sign-out click on your name on the upper right corner in the email window and click sign-out.

Why do I get a blank white screen when I log into Mercy Connect to check my Mercy Mavericks e-mail?

Internet Explorer has a Compatibility View, a feature that affects how some websites are displayed. If Compatibility View is enabled for google.com, it may cause some Gmail features to display incorrectly. So, we suggest that you remove google.com from your list of sites that have Compatibility View enabled to ensure that Gmail displays correctly.

For IE browsers: Go to Tools - Compatibility view Settings - and remove google.com
